Bled on foot from the door
The lake on foot, Bohinj by car.
The house is in a quiet residential street on the east side of Bled, a kilometre from the shore. The supermarket is round the corner, the lake about 15 minutes on foot and the castle half an hour. For trips into the valleys and mountains the car is right there in the yard.

By car
Take the A2 motorway (Karawanken–Ljubljana) to the Lesce exit, then about 4 km to the house. Ljubljana is about 55 km away. Park in the yard, free of charge.
By train
Lesce-Bled station on the Ljubljana–Jesenice–Villach line is 3.5 km from the house, with a regular bus into Bled. Bled Jezero station on the Bohinj line is on the far side of the lake.
By bus
Bled has regular buses to Ljubljana and the surrounding towns. The bus station is in the centre of Bled, within walking distance of the house.
By plane
Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport is 34 km from the house, Klagenfurt Airport in Austria 64 km.
By car from the yard
Bled is the starting point.
The house is at the gateway to Triglav National Park. Bohinj or Pokljuka are half an hour away, Kranjska Gora, Planica or Ljubljana less than an hour.

What to do
Bled is at its best in summer and autumn, and in winter the ski slopes are close.
Summer
Swimming in the lake, cycling, rafting on the Sava, golf, horse riding, the summer toboggan on Straža, the adventure park, fishing, hiking and climbing in the Julian Alps. In July, the Bled Night festival.
Autumn and spring
Vintgar gorge, the view from Mala Osojnica, a walk round the lake, trips to Bohinj, the Soča valley, Ljubljana, the Postojna and Škocjan caves, Lipica or the coast at Portorož.
Winter
Skiing, ski touring and cross-country skiing, ice skating, sledging, ice climbing. The Vitranc Cup in Kranjska Gora, ski jumping in Planica and biathlon on Pokljuka.
